New Bottled Water Display

Beach Watchers unveiled a new 3-panel display at the Jefferson County Fair in August - focused on the issue of bottled water. The display is a culmination of the work that has been done by Jefferson County Beach Watchers over the past several years on the issues surrounding bottled water.

The display was funded by the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee and is available for check out to educational groups from WSU Extension in Port Hadlock. Click here to view all three panels.

Many thanks to Beach Watchers Kate D. for getting us going on the poster and to Jan for doing research and compiling a notebook of sources for citations on the poster. And huge kudos to our in-classroom team of Andi and Mary Jo (presenters) and Deanna and Jaya (helpers) and to the rest of the crew who put in many hours behind the scenes including Denny, Meredith, Karl, LaVaugh and Lori. We are indebted to Karen at Jefferson County Public Health for creating and maintaining such a strong partnership over the past year and to Jen K and the gang at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for bring the issue of plastic in the ocean to the forefront. Many thanks to Matt at Skookum and to Ron H. for the great photos.
