Continuing to Reduce the Use!

On a continuing mission to reduce the use of bottled water - Jefferson County Beach Watchers have now talked to 565 kids in Jefferson County in Chimacum, Quilcene and Port Townsend!! All who participated in an art contest recieved a reusable metal water bottle. Scroll down this page to see more on this. The art is now on display all summer at the Port Townsend Library and the Jefferson County Library in Hadlock. Many thanks to our wonderful partners at Jefferson County Public Health!

We are now gearing up to take our show on the road. We will be at the Port Townsend Farmer's Market on July 3 and at the Jefferson County Fair August 13-15.

We had a table at Earth Day--at Wild Birds Unlimited. Kids could conduct their own study by sifting sand from the beach to see how many nurdles (pre production plastic pellets) or other tiny plastic particle they could find. We also had our fabulous bean demonstation -- showing the increase in bottled water consumption -- from zero in the 1950's to billions and billions today!

We also had our plastic display at the PTMSC Plastic Summit on May 14 & 15. We shared our "Reduce Your Use" of bottled water curriculum with over 100 people at the event. Click here to learn moreor more on this We'll be posting the curriculum online soon - so stay tuned.
